A Palakkad Farmers’ Collective Mr.FARMER PFPS is a collective of selected farmers in order to create a model to integrate farming, processing and marketing thus connecting farmers to consumers. The society’s approach is to deliver healthy products to consumers. There is a prevailing perception that food products in the market are contaminated with the use of pesticides and toxic substances. The society therefore aims to ensure the food products for sale are free from such contaminants through good agricultural practices [GAP] and subsequent processing. To start with the society’s focus is on Palakkad Matta Rice known for its taste and cooking quality that enabled it to get the GI [Geographic Indication] Tag. The society intends to procure, process and market genuine Palakkadan Matta Rice and various other products of the region preserving their original quality and nutrition
